Mary Tokar heads KPMG's Global International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Group, which is based in London.

Mary is from KPMG in the US, where she worked in the New York office and the Department of Professional Practice. She also worked for the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from 1994 - 2000. While there, she led the SEC's involvement in the International Accounting Standards Committee's (IASC's) core standards work program and chaired the international regulators' working group on accounting and disclosure.

Mary was a member of the International Accounting Standards Board's (IASB's) interpretive committee, International Financial Reporting Interpretations Committee (IFRIC), from 2001-2007, and has served as the vice-president, practice, of the AAA International section.

She is a graduate of Williams College and has earned an MBA from NYU's Stern School of Business.
