Partner, National Tax Leader for IFRS, KPMG LLP

Bernard Cates has been with KPMG for 28 years providing both audit related support and tax consulting services to a wide variety of domestic and international clients.

He has significant experience in both domestic and international tax planning in addition to FAS 109 (accounting for income taxes). Bernard also serves as KPMG's national IFRS Tax lead partner.

Prior to joining the Atlanta office, Bernard worked in Brussels, Belgium for two years and Paris, France for four years in charge of KPMG's US Corporate tax practice in those locations, as well as in North Carolina.

Bernard has worked in a variety of industries including Energy, Communications, Manufacturing, Retail and Distribution.
