Audit Partner, Department of Professional Practice, KPMG LLP

Doug W. Sweeney is an Audit partner in KPMG's Department of Professional Practice (DPP) in New York. He has more than 12 years of experience providing financial statement audit and internal control audit services to companies. This experience relates to real estate accounting, leases, cash flows, consolidations, business combinations, and restructurings/impairments. 

Currently Doug provides assistance in technical accounting, reporting ,and auditing matters to engagement teams. He has participated in the development of the firm's audit methodology related to internal control over financial reporting, standard setting, and other organizations. He also participated as a reviewer in KPMG's internal annual Quality Performance Review.

Prior to joining DPP, Doug provided professional audit services to several public real estate investment trusts in northern Virginia and Washington, D.C. in accordance with the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) requirements and U.S. GAAP. His audit experience also includes Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filings, pension plans, and numerous debt and equity offerings.

Doug received his BBA from James Madison University. He is a licensed CPA in Virginia, Maryland, District of Columbia, and New York.
