Head of Global IFRS Initiative, KPMG

Gary has been with KPMG for over 23 years - the last 12 of them as a partner in the UK firm.

His focus for the last eight years has been on providing advisory services to  predominantly global insurance clients. His expertise lies in the area of financial management (CFO Advisory) services and he has led a number of financial transformation projects at insurance clients.

Reader set up the financial management (CFO Advisory) practice in financial services in the UK. Since 2004 he has been the global lead partner for Swiss Re and in 2006 took on responsibility for overseeing all advisory services to the insurance sector across Europe.

In August 2008 he moved to New York to lead the global IFRS conversion at AIG and in October was appointed the leader of the Global IFRS Project Management Office. His current focus is on leading and supporting IFRS sales initiatives at key global targets. He is also a member of the U.S. Insurance Leadership team and is supporting sales and targeting initiatives across key U.S. insurance accounts.
