Holger Erchinger

Audit Partner, IFRS Group of KPMG's National Office

Holger Erchinger has been a member of the IFRS Group of KPMG’s National Office in New York since 2009, and has 18 years of experience in serving different companies on audit, audit-related, and consulting engagements, including SEC registrants and public companies outside the U.S. which transitioned from U.S. GAAP to IFRS.

Holger worked between 1994 and 2008 in KPMG’s operating offices in Munich, New York and Berlin. In addition, from 2006 to 2008, Holger served as a professor for IFRS at Berlin School of Economics and Law and published various papers and studies regarding IFRS, convergence between IFRS and U.S. GAAP, and SEC-related IFRS rules and regulations.

In his current role, his duties include consulting on a variety of IFRS-related accounting, reporting and audit issues and development of the firm's guidance and publications. Holger is also a member of KPMG's Global IFRS Topic Team and is acting as IFRS reviewing partner for KPMG audit clients. In addition, Holger serves on the Board of the International Association for Accounting and Education Research (IAAER) and as Vice President Practice of the International Section of the American Accounting Association (AAA).

Holger is licensed as a CPA in New York and Colorado, he is a German CPA, and earned a PhD in Economics.
