Karl Braun
Seconded Partner, U.S. IFRS Project Management Office KPMG LLP
Karl is a seconded partner from Germany and has worked for KPMG in Munich and London for the last 15 years. As a U.S. CPA, he specialized in U.S. Accounting Standards in the 1990s and worked on a number of U.S.-GAAP conversion projects for European companies during their U.S. listing projects in the late 1990s. More recently, he has acted as the Group Engagement Partner on one of KPMG’s largest global clients during their conversion to IFRS, and has been the Global Lead Partner on other German SEC-registered companies.
As the international partner in the U.S. IFRS Project Management Office of KPMG, Karl is responsible for coordinating the firm’s efforts to prepare for the adoption of IFRS in the U.S. In this role, he oversees not only KPMG’s internal preparation, such as training programs, thought leadership development, and the liaison with other KPMG offices globally, but he also has responsibility for the delivery of IFRS conversion services to clients. His broad experience of IFRS conversions in Europe is key to serving in this role.
