Laura Hay has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience. She specializes in leading large multidisciplinary and global engagements where she has been the actuarial lead on more than ten financial statement conversions to IFRS and U.S. GAAP.  

She also advises global organizations on leading practices with respect to effectively and efficiently transforming their actuarial business organization, processes and analytics to improved and more flexible approaches that adapt to the changing accounting rules and competitive landscape.  Her experience in the firm includes serving market leaders both domestically and globally in an advisory or audit capacity.

As a member of the U.S. national insurance leadership team and the global actuarial leadership team, Laura has been a featured speaker in more than 20 countries and 5 continents on topics covering IFRS and U.S. GAAP conversions, Solvency II implications, embedded value, actuarial transformations, and Principles-Based Reserving and Capital. She serves as the U.S. GAAP actuarial resource partner for the global actuarial group.

Laura has served on a variety of technical committees for the firm assisting in several AICPA task forces on various topics  She has written several white papers and articles including topics such as "The Future of Financial Performance", "Life in the Transformation Lane" and "A Financial Executive's Guides to Principles Based Reserving and Capital". She has been the editor for actuarial digest, leads KPMG's initiatives around quarterly actuarial newsletters, and frequently contributes to KPMG's overall thought leadership for the insurance industry.
