Bob Young is Partner in Charge of Risk Management and Professional Practice for KPMG Canada's Enterprise Practice. As an assurance partner, he provides audit and review engagement services to a wide variety of clients ranging from owner-managed businesses to large petrochemical installations. Bob also serves numerous clients in the public sector including municipalities, universities, and hospitals.

He has served as a sessional lecturer in accounting at the University of Alberta before joining the Student Education Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.  He later served on and chaired the Institute's Practice Review Committee and was elected to the Institute's governing Council in 1993, ultimately serving as President in 1999/2000.

After moving to Ontario, Bob continued his service to the profession. He chairs the task force of the Auditing and Assurance Standards Board of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants that developed the new standard on terms of engagement.

Bob has also been asked to join the Advisory Committee assisting Canada's Accounting Standards Board in developing an accounting model suitable for Canada's private businesses.

Most recently, he was appointed to the newly formed Private Enterprise Advisory Committee which will provide ongoing support to Canada's Accounting Standards Board in maintaining Canada's recently released Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises.
