The seventh edition of Strategic Financial Analysis for Higher Education -- presented here in an abbreviated version -- focuses on strategic financial risks for higher education organizations. It offers insights into implementing an efficient and effective strategic plan and a framework for addressing key financial risks.

The paper was developed collaboratively by KPMG LLP; Prager, Sealy & Co., LLC; and Attain LLC, under the sponsorship of the KPMG Government Institute. It identifies key financial operating and capital risks, and highlights methods to address these risks.

The paper discusses the benefits of linking strategic financial goals with actions and risk assessment, and suggests approaches for achieving this alignment. It covers a wide range of key topics, including enterprise risk management, liquidity, transparent internal financial reporting, resource allocation, debt management, and financial analysis and metrics.
