KPMG International commissioned this study to analyze the factors affecting the success of a range of international urban transport infrastructure projects, with the goal of exploring why some are more (or less) successful than others. This white paper discusses the six factors by assessing their influence in 19 case studies. The key factors are: project planning, technical expertise, procurement and financing, operational organization, political control, and sponsorship.
