TaxWatch

Taxing the income of multinational companies doing business in the United States presents some of the more complex state and local tax issues, ranging from determining the entities to be included in the unitary group and what is meant by "water's edge" to understanding the linkages to the federal tax treatment of certain types of income. These complexities are magnified by the lack of uniformity across states, the number of changes in state law and positions that are occurring as states attempt to balance their budgets, and the Obama administration's international tax proposals. The risks and complexities for U.S.-based and foreign-based multinationals seem to grow on a daily basis.

This TaxWatch Webcast features KPMG state and local tax professionals from across the country as they discuss current issues in the taxation of multinational companies with a focus on recent state developments in Massachusetts, New York, and California.
